On Tuesday, Rouse Avenue Court has sent the summons to former Union Rail Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. They alleged his family for land-for-jobs scam, and direct him to appear on 11 March in court. Court summoned his son and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav, and his daughter Hema Yadav. The special judge Vishal Gogne issued a fresh summons to the younger son of Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi Yadav, who serves as Bihar’s deputy CM. The accused have ordered to personally appear before the court on 11 March.

The Delhi court summoned the Lalu Prasad Yadav for Land-for-jobs scam. The case pertains to gular appointments made in the West Central Zone of Indian Railways based in Jabalpur, MP, during his tenure as Union Rail Minister from 2004-2009. As per officials, job aspirants allegedly giving Group D posts in exchange for land parcels, that either gifted or transferred on name of Lalu Prasad’s family members or close associates.
Case Details and Investigation
After Rouse Avenue Court issues notice to Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family, the CBI registered the case against them. The case registered against his wife, two daughters, unidentified public officials, and private individuals.
The fresh court summons marks the legal setback for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo, that has been embroiled in multiple corruption cases over the years.
