Supreme Court alleged UP over child trafficking, lays down strict guidelines

On Tuesday, Supreme Court alleged UP authorities over its handling of child trafficking cases and laid down strict guidelines to be followed in states to prevent such offences. A bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan ordered the courts to complete trials in such cases in six months even as directing government to droop licences of hospitals if any newborn is trafficked. “High Courts across the usa are directed to call for the status of pending trials in child trafficking cases. The directions shall be issued to finish the trial in 6 months and also conduct an everyday trial,” the top court stated.

Why Supreme Court alleged UP authorities

The Supreme Court’s difficult communication got here even as it became hearing a case where a trafficked child was delivered to a number in Uttar Pradesh who want a son. The accused were granted bail by Allahabad High Court.

While cancelling the bail of the accused, the Supreme Court slammed each the Allahabad High Court and the UP authorities over their managing of the problem. “The accused was longing for a son and then were given a son for Rs 4 lakh. If you prefer a son… You can’t move for a trafficked child. He knew that the child had become stolen,” the bench said.

Issue Guidelines to Suspend Hospital’s Licenses

Supreme Court alleged UP and issue guidelines to arrest child trafficking cases and state the licences of hospitals have to be cancelled if any newborn is stolen. “If any new child is trafficked from a health centre, step one must be to suspend the licence of such hospitals. If any girl involves deliver a child to the health center and the child is stolen, step one is suspension of licence,” the court ordered. The bench warned that any laxity could be taken critically and treated as contempt of court room.
