The Supreme Court granted a divorce to couple and direct the man to hand over his Rs 4 crore Mumbai flat to the ex wife. A bench comprising Chief Justice of India B R Gavai and Justices K Vinod Chandran and N V Anjaria also quashed the legal court cases initiated against the man under Sections 498-A, 406 read with Section 34 of IPC staring at they had been banal and vague without any precise cases.

The court said that the relation between the parties for the last 8 years without any let-up, and the legal proceedings pending, definitely indicated their partnership had ” damaged down”.
“We also allow the application filed under Article 142 of the Constitution of India damage the wedding among the appellant and the second one respondent finding the wedding to have irretrievably damaged down, in the fine interest of each the parties and for doing complete justice,” the bench said.
No Alimony Due to Husband’s Unemployment
It also said that the claim of alimony isn’t justified, especially considering the appellant’s unemployment. Supreme Court directed the man, a official banker, to deposit the arrears to the housing society by September 1, 2025, closer to renovation costs for the rental.
“Appellant shall execute a present deed on or before August 30, 2025 on any date informed by written note; by appellant to the respondent, with due acknowledgment taken. We have visible from the data that the draft of the deed was exchanged between the events and both the appellant and the respondent 2 shall be present before the jurisdictional Registrar for execution and registration at the date notified,” the bench said.
