In a kind act celebrating the beginning of Ramadan 2026, the leadership of the United Arab Emirates has ordered the release of thousands of prisoners. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed the release of 1,440 inmates.
UAE initiate humanitarian efforts for prisoners before Ramadan
In Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum pardoned 1,856 prisoners from different nationalities in the emirate’s facilities. In total, more than 3,000 prisoners have benefited from these humanitarian efforts.
Ajman Ruler already announces release of 134 prisoners
UAE leaders order the release of prisoners on such special occasions and religious holidays like Ramadan. Supreme Council Member, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, and Ruler of Ajman, also ordered the release of 134 inmates from correctional and penal institutions in the emirate.
