On Diwali night, a deadly shooting in Farsh Bazar of Delhi shocked the neighbourhood. A Delhi man was shot on Diwali along with his nephew on the celebrated occasion. The victims were spending some time outside their place and igniting firecrackers.
According to police accounts, the incident took around 8 pm. The authorities somehow got the video footage from CCTV cameras nearby. The assailant who had hired them was 17 years of age according to the accounts of police, who he had been disputing due to the amount he believed was left in the bill.
The video captured the events before the shooting. Akash Sharma, 44 years old, was outside with his son, Krish Sharma aged 15, and his nephew, Rishabh Sharma aged 16. The trio was celebrating Diwali and letting off firecrackers. Within minutes, a young man on a two-wheeler arrived and touched Akash’s feet as if in respect. Next to him stood another man who was later identified as the shooter.
Without warning, the shooter opened fire at Akash, hitting him several times and injuring his son. Rishabh tried to chase the criminals when he was also gunned down. Akash and Rishabh ended up dead in the Delhi man shot dead on Diwali incident, much to the shock of his family and community.

The teen suspect is believed to be a cousin of Akash who allegedly had borrowed ₹70,000 from him a month ago. The tension increased as Akash neither returned the money nor acknowledged the attempts made by the teen to contact him. Police officials have said that the accused planned the murder 17 days in advance. It is because he wanted to settle the financial dispute violently.
This is not the first encounter of this young man with the book of law. Police found out that an attempt to murder charge already existed. Meanwhile, Akash has filed more serious allegations of rape and murder charges against the teen and his brother Yogesh Sharma, Rishabh’s father.
