Bedroom to Bangladesh: Secret Tunnel Has Been Discovered In West Bengal

The secret tunnel has been found in the house of Saddam Sardar which is said to be 40 meter long which connects West Bengal to Bangladesh. This 40 meter long concrete tunnel connects to a nearby canal flowing into Matla river further which lies on the Indo-Bangladesh border. The people were shocked to hear that the tunnel was found in the house of Saddam Sardar who was already accused of Kultali fake gold idol case.

The accused Saddam Sardar made this tunnel inside his bedroom in order to escape through this tunnel when the police raided him on July 15 and to emigrate to Bangladesh from it. It was said that when police entered his house he fired at the police. After that, he was not found in his house therefore police arrested two women who they encountered in his house who were sent to the court.

These two women were identified as the wives of Saddam and Sardar the two brothers and one more person was arrested with them who was named Aftab. It is told that when the police started the raid against these two women the brothers Saddam and Sardar used this tunnel to reach the Indo-Bangladesh border from where they escaped the scene.

Accused Cases On Saddam

Saddam, who has been accused of several cases, has emigrated to Bangladesh. He has been sent to jail and police custody three times. After that when he was released from the jail he started trading fake money and exporting business in the country. They were accused of selling fake gold to people in the country and also taking money and then refusing to give the goods to the people. 

“Saddam and his brother Sairul are accused in multiple cases, and it is suspected that the secret tunnel was built in his house to serve as an escape route from West Bengal to Bangladesh if police raid his house,” said an officer of Baruipur police district.

“He used to lure prospective buyers saying that he had gold bars and idols which he wanted to sell off at cheaper rates. He would show them fake gold items. Once the buyers came, Saddam would take them to an isolated place and would assault the person and snatch all his belongings,” the officer added.
