Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Union Budget for 2024-25 in parliament today. She said that the government will focus on the states in Eastern India for comprehensive development. This includes Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. Sitharaman highlighted that developing infrastructure in this region will drive the country towards Viksit Bharat.
She mentioned that the new Amritsar-Kolkata corridor will spur industrial growth in Eastern India. Both Bihar and Andhra Pradesh have received several significant announcements, addressing their expectations for special allocations in this budget. Therefore Rs 26000 crore announced for Bihar’s road network.

The budget Rs 26,000 crore announced for Bihar’s road network. Additionally new airports, medical colleges, and sports institutions are planned to be constructed in the region. The government will finance the industrial route in Gaya. It will also accept Bihar’s request for external assistance from multilateral banks. Flood control management projects will be initiated in Bihar. Moreover, the government will support the development of Rajgir and Nalanda due to their cultural significance.
These developments will help Bihar a lot in the long term. The building of airports will lead to more transportation facilities and therefore the trading activities will increase and tourism in Bihar is also likely to benefit. Moreover, medical colleges will help in the provision of more doctors which will improve the health standards of Bihar which will ultimately improve their living standards. The building of new sports institutions will allow more athletes to be built which can represent India on the national stage.

Andhra Pradesh secure special funding of Rs 15,000
Andhra Pradesh is also getting substantial attention. Sitharaman announced that the government will help secure special funding of Rs 15,000 crore through multilateral agencies to build the capital. There will be a special capital outlay for the state for comprehensive development including water and housing projects.
These projects will be very important in the development of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh as they will fulfill the basic necessities of the people of water and housing which will help reduce poverty in the region and help people to improve their living standards. People will also be motivated to find work as they will not have any tension regarding fulfilling their basic necessities of water.
