Congress MP Shashi Tharoor briefly slipped on the stairs inside the Parliament complex on Wednesday. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, who was standing right next to him, quickly rushed forward to help him. A video of the incident has since appeared on social media.

The video shows Tharoor walking down the stairs when his foot seems to slip. Akhilesh Yadav and other nearby MPs and staff quickly support him. Tharoor then regains his balance and continues walking.
This incident happened during a tense political moment, as the Lok Sabha was adjourned on Wednesday due to loud slogans from opposition members about the suspension of eight MPs during the ongoing Budget Session. The House is set to resume at 12 pm.
Suspended MPs Protest Outside Parliament
Earlier, the suspended opposition MPs protested outside Parliament, holding placards that said “PM is compromised.” Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi made similar claims while talking to the media about the India–US trade agreement. The suspended MPs include Hibi Eden, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Manickam Tagore, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, PrashantYadaoraoPadole, ChamalaKiran Kumar Reddy, Dean Kuriakose, and CPI(M) MP S Venkatesan. Meanwhile, PM Modi was scheduled to respond to the motion of thanks on the President’s address later in the day.
Samajwadi Party MP Anand Bhadauria defended Rahul Gandhi, saying that the Leader of Opposition represents the voice of people who voted against the BJP.
