The incident occurred during a tense exchange in the House when Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi was responding to the motion of thanks on the President’s address. Union Home Minister Amit Shah interrupted Gandhi’s speech, leading to disruptions and shouting from opposition members.
Amid all the noise, Anurag Thakur, dressed formally and sitting behind the ministers, stood up to intervene. His Louis Vuitton belt briefly became visible during this time. Moments later, he adjusted his coat before sitting down. The short clip quickly gained attention online.

Social media users quickly criticized the BJP leader. They accused the party of promoting Swadeshi ideals while indulging in luxury foreign brands. Many users flooded various platforms with sarcastic comments and pointed questions.
