Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal condemned the attack on his official house in New Delhi’s Civil Lines on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday and said that there is no place for violence in the democratic system.
Taking X, former Delhi CM Kejriwal said, “The attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is condemnable. In a democratic system, differences of opinion and protest are acceptable, but there may be no place for violence.”
Arvind Kejriwal Condemns CM Attack
He said, “I am confident that Delhi Police will take strict action. I hope the Chief Minister is completely safe and healthy.” Chief Minister Gupta was attacked at his official house in Civil Lines on Wednesday during a weekly Jan Sunavai. The police have arrested the attacker and are questioning him. However, the cause of the attack is not clear.
Attackers slaps Rekha Gupta Over Stray Dogs Order
Sources said that the person who attacked Delhi Chief Minister Gupta was identified as Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakaria, a resident of Rajkot in Gujarat. After this, Arvind Kejriwal spoke on this matter.Delhi Police has approached the Gujarat Police, about the same, he said. According to sources, 41 -year -old Rajesh told the police that he was from Rajkot.
The police are questioning the man to find out the reason of the attack. This incident is being seen as an important lapse in his safety. Also, the Delhi Police will conduct a investigation into how the incident occurred despite tight security.
Sources told IANS that during the weekly public hearing, Rajesh suddenly came out and hit a heavy object at the Chief Minister. According to preliminary rejected information, the attacker shouted at the Chief Minister, slapped her, and started abusing her over stray dogs order.
