As chaotic scenes spread during star footballer Lionel Messi’s event at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, the BJP Accused Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool party for “complete mismanagement.”
Angry fans broke security rules and threw chairs and bottles. They couldn’t catch a glimpse of their idol during his nearly half-hour appearance, which became a nightmare for the organizers.
BJP Accused Mamata Banerjee and called total embarrassment
The BJP called it “total embarrassment,” claiming there was “zero planning” and a lack of security for the global legend’s Kolkata event.
“Thousands of fans who gathered with hope couldn’t even see him while ineffective TMC leaders surrounded him. A global legend, a huge public turnout, and yet zero planning. A total embarrassment on an international stage. Mamata can’t even organize or manage an event,” said BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari.
CM apologized Messi
Banerjee has apologized to Messi and the fans and announced an inquiry led by a former judge. Messi, an icon for millions of football fans around the world, arrived in Kolkata early this morning for the first leg of his three-day India tour. After unveiling a statue of himself in the city, he went to Salt Lake Stadium, where fans gathered to see their favorite footballer.
However, many fans couldn’t see him, despite paying between Rs 3,500 and Rs 14,000 for a ticket, as the BJP Accused Mamata Banerjee. Frustration led to a violent outburst as hundreds of fans stormed the ground. Some threw bottles and chairs, leading to vandalism of the stadium.
