Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, faced criticism for not attending the Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi on Thursday.
BJP leader Jaiveer Shergill pointed out Gandhi’s absence from the Beating Retreat ceremony and other significant events. These included the vice presidentโs oath-taking ceremony, Independence Day celebrations, and the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant.

Political backlash every day
This isn’t the first time when Rahul Gandhi has faced backlash. Earlier this year, he was criticized for skipping Independence Day celebrations, reportedly due to issues with seating arrangements.
Meanwhile, the 77th Republic Day celebrations concluded on Thursday with the traditional Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk. Prime Minister NarendraModi praised the performances of military and paramilitary bands. He highlighted their talent and how they honored important moments in the nationโs history.
