Congress in Haryana elections had different numbers of votes on TV than in real – Pawan Khera

Congress in Haryana elections suffered a shocking blow with the contest seeming terribly close when the election finally concluded. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gained a slight edge of less than one percentage in vote share though could win 11 seats more than Congress.

In an interview with journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, Khera responded to a question seeking to know whether Congress was overconfident because of faulty poll predictions saying: “We never take you guys seriously.”

On television, it was showed that Congress was successful in garnering about 11 percent vote share more than the elections in 2019; however, it could not fortify this gain into victory during Haryana elections. With the BJP improving their vote share too, by three percent it won 48 seats against Congress’ 37.
