INDIA bloc’s protest march to the Election Commission of India stopped by Delhi Police barricades on Monday. The leaders from the from Parliament, led by Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, towards the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-certain Bihar as well as allegations of “voter fraud” during the 2024 elections.
Rahul Gandhi alleged EC over ballot fraud
Ahead of the protest’s march to the Election Commission over “ballot fraud”, Delhi Police on Monday said no person has sought permission for holding the protest.
Opposition INDIA bloc MPs led by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and floor leaders of other parties started the march to the EC from Parliament at around 11.30 am.
Delhi police deployed personnel and placed barricades at a number of points alongside the route to maintain order and prevent any untoward incident during INDIA bloc protest march. Additional security cars and response teams also placed in the area of the EC office and surrounding roads to ensure a clear site for visitors.
CCTV footage of Voting Times destroyed
The protest march came days after Rahul Gandhi press conference, in which he offered what he termed an “atom bomb” of proof over poll body resorting to “vote chori”.
Rahul Gandhi mentioned anomalies in some states like Maharashtra and Karnataka. He said irregularities like “one crore voters,” destruction of CCTV footage, thousands of fake voters, and refusal by the EC to provide voter-related records.
