EC Dismiss baseless allegations by Rahul Gandhi against CEC Gyanesh Kumar

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday rejected the vote theft claims made by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The commission called these claims “incorrect and baseless.” They also said that “no vote can done online by any member of the public, as misunderstood by Rahul Gandhi.” The ECI’s statement came right after Gandhi made several claims about the Election Commission in his press conference today.

EC state the Rahul Gandhi allegations baseless and incorrect

The ECI said, “Allegations made by Rahul Gandhi are incorrect and baseless. No deletion of any vote done online by any member of the public, as misunderstood by Gandhi. No deletion take place without giving an opportunity for patient to heard.”

However, the commission admitted that there were some failed attempts to delete voters in Karnataka’s Aland Assembly Constituency in 2023, led to an FIR filed by the ECI to look into the issue.

Gandhi accused the CEC of protecting those who undermine Indian democracy. He claimed there is a “systematic conspiracy” to delete votes from communities that support the Opposition, including Dalits, OBCs, Adivasis, and minorities.

Congress leader accused EC for blocking investigations

He alleged that in Karnataka’s Aland constituency, around 6,018 votes fraudulently deleted using impersonation and software control. Gandhi declared, “In election after election, voters for the Opposition targeted for deletions. We now have 100 % proof of this.”

Rahul Gandhi accused the Election Commission of blocking investigations. He mentioned that the Karnataka CID had sent 18 letters over 18 months to the Election Commission requesting basic details like IP addresses, device ports, and OTP trails used to file deletion forms. “The Commission not shared this information because it will reveal where the operation carried out,” he claimed.
