ECI Bihar announced that it has released the draft electoral roll after completing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) practice. The ballot team said that the exercise has covered all 243 meeting constituencies and 90,817 polling stations and shared with political parties. However, the opposition events have protested against exercise and have stressed a dialogue in the Parliament over the problem. The SIR exercising comes earlier country assembly elections, scheduled to held round October–November this year.

MP Protest coincide with ECI Bihar schedule
On Friday, protesting MPs, including Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, show a banner said “the SIR: struggle on democracy”.
A day earlier, the INDIA bloc parties resolved to heighten their protests against the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar’s electoral rolls, each in and outside Parliament. The protest coincided with the Election Commission’s scheduled release of the draft electoral rolls on Friday.
EC claims Bihar had 7.93 crore citizens before the SIR force started
The ebook of the draft electoral rolls also marks the start of the “claims and objections” section, so that you can run till September 1. During this period, electors who believe their names wrongly deleted can method the applicable authorities for redressal.
According to the ECI Bihar, there are 7.93 crore registered voters in Bihar before the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) method starts last month. However, the revision has sparked criticism and protests from the Opposition, who have raised issues over possible huge deletions of voters.
