Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, intensified his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Election Commission of India on Saturday. He reiterated his accusation of “vote chori” (vote theft) and promised that his party would soon present what he called a “ Hydrogen Bomb ” of evidence. Mr. Gandhi said that Congress has clear proof of systematic manipulation in the electoral process.
“We are going to reveal a hydrogen bomb that will completely change the situation. We have solid evidence for what we are claiming. I am not saying anything without proof. We have 100 % confirmation of various incidents that will be released,” Mr. Gandhi said.
Rahul Gandhi vs CEC: Congress Set for Hydrogen Bomb
The Congress leader has frequently accused Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar of protecting those involved in electoral fraud. On Saturday, he pointed to ongoing investigation in Karnataka regarding attempts to remove over 6,000 names from the electoral rolls in Aland constituency.
“There is a CID investigation happening in Karnataka. The CID has requested information on phone numbers used for vote chori. Gyanesh Kumar is the CEC that the Karnataka CID is consulting. There can be no more criticism of the CEC than this. This is not my claim; this is a fact,” Mr. Gandhi claimed.
BJP’s Pushback
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongly denied Mr. Gandhi’s claims. Senior leader and MP from Patna Sahib accused the Congress leader on Friday of misleading the public and trying by Hydrogen Bomb teasing.
During a press conference in Patna, Mr. Prasad criticized Gandhi’s recent statements on the social media platform X. He said, “Desh ke yuva, desh ke students, and desh ke Gen Z will save the Constitution, democracy, and vote theft. I always stand with them. Jai Hind.”
