Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged UP Government, for hiding the actual death tolls in Kumbh. As per officials, there are 30 persons were killed and 60 were injured on site. The various media reports also show that the actual toll count will be higher than government shares.
During the press conference held after the State budget in the Assembly, the CM claimed that the UP government tried to prevent the death tolls from the media. She said, “ So many people dies in Kumbh incident, but they not release the accurate death toll. She also said, “they create hype about Kumbh mela, even there are no proper arrangements conducts there.”

CM Mamata Banerjee accused the Uttar Pradesh government of not disclosing the actual death tolls in the Kumbh Mela. Trinamool Congress leader also questioned the “VIP culture”. Claims that during the Gangasagar Mela held in West Bengal, she did not visit the site on the day of the holy dip to avoid inconvenience to the public.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also alleged BJP Party to not make proper arrangements on spot and hire real tolls from media. He demanded the “strict punitive action” against those who are responsible for stampede. He also said that persons “who have hidden reality” should be punished. He asked, “We ask the double-engine government, if there is no guilt, then why figures are not revealed, hidden, and erased?”
Samajwadi Party leaders claim people missing in the stampede
After Mamata Banerjee alleged UP government. Samajwadi Party leaders have claimed that hundreds of persons were missing in the stampede. The stampede broke between 1 am and 2 am on 29 January. There are a big number of pilgrims arrived to take a holy dip on the event of Mauni Amavasya, a spiritual day in the Hindu calendar.
The administration till not give the actual toll nearly 15 hours after accident. PM Modi has expressed the condolences to “the devotees who lost their family”. Even police officers claimed that no stampede has take place.
