Days after winning decisively in the Bihar Assembly elections, the newly elected NDA government set to take the oath on November 20 at the historic Gandhi Maidan. However, there is still speculation about whether Nitish Kumar will become Chief Minister for an unprecedented 10th time.

PM Modi expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony as the new government begins to take shape. During the campaign, PM Modi spoke at more than a dozen rallies, consistently assuring voters that he would return for the swearing-in of the new NDA.
Before the ceremony, Nitish Kumar, who supported by NDA allies for another term, hold his final Cabinet meeting at 11:30 am. The Cabinet expected to pass a resolution recommending its dissolution. After that, Kumar will submit his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, officially setting the stage for the new government.
RJD major setback
The NDA performed strongly in the polls, winning 202 out of 243 seats. The BJP became the single-largest party with 89 seats, closely followed by JD(U) with 85. Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s LJP(RV) won 19 seats, while smaller allies, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), won a total of nine seats. In contrast, the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan faced a significant setback, securing only 35 seats.
