Plot against Kejriwal: AAP claims BJP is behind the conspiracy

AAP claimed that there was a “plot against Kejriwal” saying it was a deliberate move to jeopardize the Chief Minister’s life. According to them, BJP will be held accountable in case any sort of harm would come to the party convener, Arvind Kejriwal after the party workers termed an “attack by BJP supporters” on its leader’s recent ‘padyatra’ in West Delhi’s Vikaspuri area.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh at a press conference asserted that the attack was by the Delhi police, and he hinted at a larger conspiracy against Kejriwal. Singh termed the incident a politically motivated threat and said, “The BJP has become a danger to Kejriwal’s life.” Neither the BJP nor the police have so far responded to these allegations.

Despite the claimed threat, Singh said Kejriwal’s padyatra campaign will proceed as planned. When asked why no formal complaint was filed, Singh said the incident could have been avoided had the police been “impartial” and intervened to prevent the assault.

He also claimed that the attackers were affiliated with the BJP’s youth wing, calling on authorities to initiate an investigation. AAP is reportedly consulting legal experts on the next steps.

Singh also claimed that top BJP leaders are “encouraging” actions against Kejriwal. BJP officials dismissed AAP’s accusations saying the incident involved only local residents expressing dissatisfaction over poor water quality and not a coordinated assault.

Singh said Kejriwal was not worried and will continue the fight for the cause of people in Delhi, while vowing, “He will neither stop nor yield.” Singh said that if Kejriwal would not be safe, then the reaction would be very strong from people against the BJP.

Kejriwal and liquor policy controversy

The India Supreme Court lifted the ban and gave a verdict on September for releasing him from detention under corruption case where Arvind Kejriwal has been for five months.

Arvind Kejriwal is the former AAP politician who headed Delhi under liquor policy controversies as anti-corruption crusader had landed behind the bar since November last year when controversial liquor policy was released to help selling illicit liquors in public shops.

It was, however, canceled saying the same to promote the liquor companies as Lt.-Gov. Delhi states that Arvind Kejriwal or AAP didn’t indulge in any misconduct.
