Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami confirmed on Wednesday that the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) would join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Elections.
At a press briefing in Chennai with PMK chief Anbumani Ramadoss, Palaniswami stated, “AIADMK, BJP, and PMK are in alliance. Several other parties are likely to join us soon.” He added that the alliance has the support of party members and leaders.
PMK Joins NDA Alliance to win Tamil Nadu Elections
He described the alliance as a “winning alliance,” saying, “Ours is a winning alliance that will remove the DMK. We all work together and achieve a massive victory,” while noting that details of discussions with other parties shared later.
PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss also confirmed the partnership, stating, “Today, in the AIADMK alliance, we, PMK, have joined hands. It is a joyous occasion. We are happy to be part of this alliance.”
He targeted the ruling party, saying the alliance’s goal was “to remove the anti-women, anti-people, and corruption-filled DMK party,” claiming there is public anger against it.
AIADMK UPS ANTE AGAINST DMK
Earlier on Tuesday, EPS asserted that the NDA would “win big” in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Elections, while accusing the DMK government of allowing sexual assaults to occur.
At the AIADMK women’s conference in Kallakurichi on Monday, Palaniswami accused CM Stalin of claiming credit for projects that were originally proposed by the AIADMK. He alleged that the Chief Minister, who recently visited the district, was presenting AIADMK initiatives as DMK achievements.
Palaniswami claimed that law and order had worsened under the current regime, and he expressed confidence that the AIADMK-led alliance would secure a significant victory in the 2026 elections. Tamil Nadu set to hold Assembly elections in the first half of 2026.
