Political Clash in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly occurs on the 2nd consecutive day on Tuesday because the House descended into chaos after competition events endured with their call for a discussion at the contentious Waqf Amendment act, main to a temporary adjournment.
A fierce conflict of words broke out between lawmakers of the National Conference (NC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), with contributors trading sharp barbs over the implications and implementation of the Waqf Act, which was passed in Parliament last week. The communication duel disrupted lawsuits and pressured the Speaker to adjourn the consultation until 1 pm. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Awami Ittehad Party had moved an adjournment movement to talk about the Waqf Act, which was finally rejected by the Speaker.
PDP MLA Marshalled out After Clash in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly
Several MLAs have been seen raising slogans towards the Speaker and later PDP MLA Waheed Para was marshalled out of the Assembly premises. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti took to X to voice her issues over the Speaker’s moves, calling it a “direct attack on the rights, ideals, and dignity of 24 crore Muslims in India”.
“The Waqf issue transcends subjects of religion. It is an immediate attack on the rights, ideals, and dignity of 24 crore Muslims in India. As the only Muslim-majority place Jammu & Kashmir must rise to the occasion and protect the rights of its people,” she wrote.
PDP Submit clear Decision to Address Issue
“In mild of Clash in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, PDP has submitted a clear decision addressing this vital issues. The authorities have to take it significantly to make sure that the voice of the people is heard. I urge the Chief Minister, the Legislative Assembly, and the J&K government to expose political clear up and stand company against any encroachment on the rights of its peoples,” Mufti introduced.
