Before the vote counting in Bihar’s highly competitive 2025 Assembly Elections, the RJD Workers has made serious accusations of “electoral theft” in the Sasaram Assembly Constituency of Rohtas district. The party claims that a truck carrying Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and ballot boxes secretly brought into the local counting center during the night. This led to calls for an immediate investigation by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

However, the district administration quickly rejected these claims, labeling them as a “misinformation campaign” and stating that the vehicle was simply transporting routine empty boxes for logistical reasons.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, has increase tensions in an already divided electoral landscape, where exit polls largely support the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Controversy and political issues occurs
With counting set to start at 8 AM across the state, this controversy overshadow the results in Sasaram, a crucial seat in the Rohtas parliamentary constituency that has a BJP stronghold but is being intensely contested this time by RJD’s candidate Manoj Kumar Kushwaha against BJP’s Haribhushan Thakur Bachol.
According to RJD Workers and viral social media videos circulating since the early morning, the situation began around 2 PM on Wednesday when CCTV cameras monitoring the strong room at the Vajra Griha counting center turned off without explanation.
