The BJP has shifted its attention to its rebel leaders in Bihar, a day after winning the state elections. Former Union Minister RK Singh, a senior leader from Bihar, is one of three individuals suspended for actions against the party.
The other two facing consequences are Legislative Council member Ashok Agarwal and Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal. Singh resigned from the party’s primary membership shortly after reprimanded for his behaviour.
RK Singh quit BJP Party
Arvind Sharma, who oversees the Bihar BJP’s state headquarters, sent a notice to the leaders this morning. The notice informed them of their suspension and required them to explain within a week why they not expelled from the party.
“You are engaging in actions against the party. This violates our discipline. The party is taking this seriously. This has harmed the party. Therefore, you are suspended and must explain why you should not expelled.
BJP suspended Singh over anti party activities
RK Singh, a former MP from Arrah in Bihar, has been vocal against the BJP and the local government since losing the 2024 elections. In his political isolation, he has questioned the NDA leadership in the state and raised concerns about the credibility of some allied candidates.
He specifically targeted party colleague Samrat Choudhary, the deputy chief minister and the BJP’s main candidate in Bihar. After Prashant Kishor accused Choudhary of corruption, as well as BJP Bihar chief Dilip Jaiswal, Singh claimed they were damaging the party’s reputation and demanded clarification from them.
