Telangana real estate sector is facing challenges. Revenue collection data shows the sharp decline. In 2023, the department collects the Rs 14,588.06 crore. This decline to Rs 14,214.42 crore in 2024. By 31 Jan, 2026, revenue for 2025–26 reached Rs 12,443.64 crore.
Real Estate Market Slowdown in Telangana
The department experience estimated revenue of Rs 15,200 crore for the entire financial year. As per trends, it seem unlikely that this target will met. Despite slowdown, it aims for higher target of Rs 16,021 crore for 2026–27. It face the struggle in growth and bounce back since the Congress government took office. Developers and builders cite several reasons for the ongoing slump. They mention global uncertainties, including geopolitical tensions, issues in the IT sector, and a broader economic slowdown.
Big decline in property registrations
Some industry members believe that developments overseas, especially in West Asia, have made buyers more cautious. NRIs and corporate employees are taking a wait-and-see approach, which has reduced inquiries, according to a CREDAI member. This trend has continued over the last few months.
Developers also argue that certain policy decisions by the State government have impacted buyer sentiment. While the government defends its actions on projects like Pharma City and initiatives such as HYDRAA demolitions, industry players think these decisions have raised concerns among buyers.
