The talented youngster from Bihar received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) in New Delhi, India’s highest civilian award for children. This award recognizes his outstanding contribution to Indian cricket.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Receives India’s Top Child Honor by President Murmu
Vaibhav got the award from President Droupadi Murmu at a special ceremony in the national capital. After the event, Vaibhav and the other winners will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a discussion aimed at inspiring young achievers.
Because of the award ceremony, Vaibhav will miss the remaining matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In his last match against Arunachal Pradesh, he scored an impressive 190 runs off just 84 balls, making his mark in the history of List A cricket.
From IPL to Vijay Hazare: Records Set by Vaibhav
Vaibhav became the youngest player to score a century in men’s List A cricket, which also helped Bihar achieve a record total of 574 runs for six wickets.
He also became the joint third-fastest Indian to score a century in men’s T20s during the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025. His score was the fourth-highest by an Indian in that format. The 14-year-old also set the record for the fastest youth ODI century, reaching the milestone in just 52 balls during India’s Under-19 tour of England. He became the youngest player to score century in IPL 2025 and create history.
