Champions Trophy 2025 heartbreak put Jasprit Bumrah in ‘rebuilding’ mode

Jasprit Bumrah begins rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore on Thursday after the Champions Trophy 2025 heartbreak. It was first picture of India pacer he post on his social media platforms, after ruled out of Champions Trophy due to his back injury.

He was racing against time to become fit for the Champions Trophy because his back injury made him unfavorable for the 5th test against  Australia in Sydney last month. He was recommended 5 weeks of rest before scans show that Jasprit is not able to manage the cricket workload that the ODI Match put on him.

BCCI Confirmed the unavailability of Jasprit for the Champions Trophy 2025

On Tuesday night, BCCI confirmed the Jasprit Bumrah’s unavailability for Champions trophy. He was replaced by Harshit Rana. On Thursday, he post on Instagram, show his mirror selfie with “Rebuilding” captain.

The post show the 31 year old wear beige T-shirt with a matching jacket, brown cap and black shorts. The extra precautions approach of BCCI on Jasprit came after the India pacer missed out T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia due to his back injury.

After the India win 3-0 ODI series against England, they are set to travel to Dubai for Champions Trophy 2025 on 15 Feb. The Men in Blue decided to not play warm-up games and begin the campaign against Bangladesh on 20 Feb. India next plays Pakistan ( 23 Feb) and New Zealand ( 2 March) to round off Group A fixtures. The updated squad of India ready to play for the Champions Trophy are

  • Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Rishabh Pant (WK), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohd. Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakaravarthy.
  • Non-traveling substitutes: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, and Shivam Dube. The three players will travel to Dubai as and when required.
