India get batting first in final. They posted 255 for five in 20 overs and achieve the highest total ever in a T20 World Cup final. Samson get the support from Abhishek Sharma and successfully hit a quick 52 off just 21 balls.
In India team, Ishan Kishan added 54 from 25 balls. This aggressive trio dominated the powerplay, and Samson and Abhishek created a strong 98-run opening partnership in only 7.1 overs.
Unbeatable performance of Shivam Dube led IND win
India maintained their momentum through the middle overs, pass 200-run mark by the 15th over. New Zealand managed to regain some control when James Neesham took three wickets in a single over, removing Samson, Kishan, and captain Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession. However, Shivam Dube’s unbeaten 26 helped India finish strongly, adding 52 runs in the last five overs.
Chasing a challenging target of 256, New Zealand struggled with the pressure and lost key wickets early. Jasprit Bumrah delivered an early breakthrough and produced a match-winning spell, finishing with impressive figures of 4 for 15.
