Pakistan defeat Zimbabwe, register monstrous 10-wicket victory in second T20I

Pakistan produced an awe-inspiring result in Bulawayo’s second T20I, sailing to a monstrous 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the match. Not only this, but they ended up seizing an unyielding 2-0 series advantage after three encounters.

The game played at Queens Sports Club saw the strength of Pakistan’s bowling and batting take the lead. Zimbabwe, having batted first, found it difficult from the start to cope with Pakistan’s intense bowling. Sufiyan Muqeem worked the ball and produced a fine leg-spin bowling spell for remarkable figures of 5/3 in 2.4 overs.

Pakistan defeat Zimbabwe in second T20I: Who deserves the credit?

He was well supported by Abbas Afridi (2/2) and Agha Salman (1/7), and Zimbabwe after being reduced to 57 all out in 12.4 overs succumbed to pace. Only Brian Bennett (21 off 14) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (16 off 14) were able to score a double. Chasing a simple objective of 58, Pakistan’s opening batsman Saim Ayub and Omair Yousuf went about it smoothly.

Saim scored 36 not out in 18 balls, including six boundary balls and one boundary ball over the fence, while Omair scored 22 in 15 balls. The two flew to the target in just 5.3 overs, 87 balls short of the target, at 9.56 runs per ball, with excellent aggression and clean execution.

Sufiyan Muqeem was justly awarded Player of the Match for his superb bowling display that devastated Zimbabwe’s batting and laid the foundation for Pakistan to breeze through their opponents. Winning like this, Pakistan took the series and will go for a whitewash in the final 3rd and deciding T20I.
