Star Pakistani batter Fakhar Zaman has scored a century against India in the 2017 Champions Trophy. But in the 2025 Champions Trophy, he has been ruled out from the team due to his Injury. As per reports in Indian and Pakistani media, he will not travel to Dubai for the match against India on Sunday, 23 Feb, because of his chest pain. Imam-ul-Haq who played the last on ODI match for Pakistan in Chennai on 27 October 2023, is set to replace him in the squad.
Fakhar Zaman Ruled Out of Playing X due to Injury
Fakhar suffered from Injury while fielding for the Pakistan team in the Champions Trophy 2025 opener against New Zealand in Karachi on Wednesday. He didn’t field for the Mohammad Rizwan-led side in the majority of New Zealand’s innings. Tried to came to bat at No. 4 in the 321-run chase, but he was in pain. He faced 41 balls on his stay at the crease, with the help of 4 fours, and scored 24 runs.
Pakistan is already missing the star opening batter Saim Ayub in the team due to an ankle injury. Now news of Zaman led more problems for Pakistan team.

He was Pakistan’s star performer in the 2017 Champions Trophy final and win against India. Scored 114 runs from 106 balls in the final match against the Virat Kohli-led side. He helped Sarfaraz Ahmad & Co. with total of 338 runs on the board for loss of 4 wickets in 50 overs. For a superb show with the bat in the summit clash, he won the title of Player of the Match award in the 2017 Champions Trophy.
Due to Fakhar Zaman absence, the Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel opened for hosts in a match at National Stadium on Wednesday but failed to make a good start for Pakistan.
