Piyush Chawla cricket retirement officially announced, Quit Career of Over 2 decades

On Friday, Veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The 36-year-old made the statement by an Instagram post. “After more than two a long time on the sector, the time come to bid adieu to game,” Chawla wrote.

“Though I step away from the crease, cricket will constantly live in me. I now live up to start on a new journey, wearing with me the spirit and lessons of this lovely game,” he said.

Chawla was a member of India’s T20 and ODI World Cup-prevailing squads in 2007 and 2011 respectively. He represented India in three Tests, 25 ODIs, and seven T20Is, taking 43 wickets throughout the three forms of the game. “From representing India to part of the success 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup squads, each second on this top-notch journey like blessing. These memory will forever continue to be etched in my heart,” Chawla said in the post.

Cricketer Thanks Coaches for Successful Career

He thanked his coaches, groups and IPL franchises for playing a role in shaping his career. He described his time in the popular T20 league as “a special bankruptcy in my career.” “A heartfelt thank you to the IPL franchises who placed their trust in me.

“The IPL is like unique chapter in my career, and I even cherished each moment playing in it. I owe my deepest gratitude to my coaches – Shri K.K. Gautam and Late Shri Pankaj Saraswat- for nurturing and shaping me into the cricketer I have become,” he said. “Today is a emotional day for me as I announce my retirement from all forms of international and home cricket,” Piyush Chawla said.
