A Delhi-Srinagar IndiGo flight with more than 220 peoples on board face sudden hailstorm leading to intense turbulence on Wednesday, prompting the pilot to record the “emergency” to air traffic manipulate at Srinagar. The flight later landed correctly at 6:30pm, officers said.
“IndiGo flight 6E 2142 operating from Delhi to Srinagar encountered face hailstorm. The flight and cabin group accompanied installed protocol and the plane landed accurately in Srinagar,” the airline stated in a declaration later.

“The airport crew attended to the customers after arrival of the aircraft, prioritizing their wellbeing and luxury. The aircraft will be released post inspection and maintenance,” it said. An official at Srinagar airport said the aircrew and passengers are safe and the plane was declared ‘plane on ground’ by airline. ‘Aircraft on floor’ (AOG) refers to a aircraft that is grounded and not able to fly due to technical problems.
Passengers experience over hailstorm
“I was in the plane and am heading back home from Srinagar. It was a close to loss of life experience. The nose of the aircraft is damaged. There was panic and people have been screaming. Everyone was scared,” one Owais Maqbool Hakeem, who was on board the Delhi-Srinagar IndiGo flight, said in a post.
“The Nose and Right facet of the aircraft was broken. And we had been not allowed to peer tons as airforce police was there,” Hakeem said. Sheikh Samiullah, any other passenger, said PTI that he notion the aircraft was going to crash.
