IndiGo and Air India Flights Cancelled To 7 Cities Today

IndiGo and Air India have state that they have cancelled their flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh and 3 other border cities for today. Air India said it has cancelled -way flight operations to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot. IndiGo also cancelled its flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar and Rajkot.

Air India and IndiGo Cancelled flights for security purposes

“In view of the modern developments and retaining your security in mind, flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot are cancelled on Tuesday, 13th May. We are tracking the state of affairs and will keep you up to date.” Air India post.  IndiGo also said the move become taken in light of the ” developments and with your safety as our top priority”.

“We understand how this could disrupt your travel plans, and remorse the inconvenience caused. Our teams are actively monitoring the state of affairs and could maintain you knowledgeable of similarly updates,” the airline said. These airports are among people who have been reopened for civilian flights on Monday after being quickly close amid tensions between India and Pakistan.

Why Flights Cancelled ?

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Monday introduced that civilian flight operations of Air India and other airlines will resume at 32 airports that were quickly close last week until May 15.

The other airports that had been allowed to resume civilian flight operations were Adhampur, Ambala, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bikaner, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Ludhiana, Mundra, Naliya, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Sarsawa, Shimla, Thoise and Uttarlai.

Tensions between the two international locations simmered following a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22. After finding cross-border links to the attack that left 26 peoples lifeless, India released Operation Sindoor on May 7 and struck 9 terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). India destroyed multiple camps of terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen and killed over 100 terrorists.
