Prime Minister Modi open the first phase of Noida International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, today. During this event, Mr. Modi tour the Terminal Building of the airport. Later, he also speak to the audience.
Become Global aviation hub with Noida International Airport
The opening of Noida International Airport is an important step in India’s progress toward becoming a global aviation hub. The airport, planned as a major international entry point for the NCR, is a significant move to improve the country’s airport infrastructure and boost both regional and international connectivity.
Capable to handle 12 million passengers yearly
Noida International Airport ranks among the largest greenfield airport projects in India. Phase I has been built with an investment of around 11,200 crore under a Public-Private Partnership model. Initially, the airport will handle 12 million passengers a year, with the potential to scale up to 70 million passengers a year when fully developed.
It has a 3,900-meter runway designed for wide-body aircraft and features modern navigation systems. These include an Instrument Landing System and advanced airfield lighting for efficient operations in all weather conditions and at all times.
It also includes a strong cargo system, featuring a Multi-Modal Cargo Hub, an Integrated Cargo Terminal, and logistics zones. This cargo facility can manage over 250,000 metric tonnes a year and expand to about 1.8 million metric tonnes. It also has a dedicated 40-acre Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility.
