IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market percentage, has confirmed that a number of its international flights remain affected because of Pakistan airspace closure to Indian services. The IndiGo airline has stated on Friday that it’s closely watching the evolving scenario and running to reduce the inconvenience cause to flyers.
This airspace restrict that came into impact from Thursday has taken region in view of rise tension between India and Pakistan after the recent attack in Pahalgam. In retaliation, Pakistan has barred Indian-registered plane at the side of those owned or leased by Indian operators from flying by its airspace.
Pakistan airspace closure affect flights routes
On Thursday, IndiGo had to cancel choose international services, includes flights from Delhi to Almaty and Tashkent. In a social media post on X, the airline stated, ”Due to our airspace closure by Pakistan, a few of our international flights stay impacted. Our teams are working diligently to evaluate the scenario and assist clients with the best possible options.”
As per recent update, IndiGo has not released the list of flights so that it will be affected. International flights that are west bound departing from North Indian airports particularly Delhi are expected to be most affected.
Delhi to Almaty and Tashkent Flights Continue for Long Routes
Even after Pakistan airspace closure, these flights will now opt for longer routes and will have redirect routes over the Arabian Sea, which may also lead to prolonged journey time and can deliver modifications in the schedules. As the scenario remains annoying, IndiGo has advised guests to stay up to date through its official website and social media handles. Further updates from each the airways and the Indian aviation ministry are expected if closure continues.
