Today, PM Modi launched the Mumbai One App, India’s first common mobility platform that combines 11 public transport operators in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The app designed to make travel easier and smoother. It allows the people to plan, book, and travel smoothly using a single digital platform and QR code. This eliminates the need for multiple apps or tickets.
PM Modi launch ‘Mumbai One’ app for all travel needs
The Mumbai One App includes Mumbai Metro, local trains, monorail, and city and suburban buses. Commuters can check routes, real-time schedules, and fares, and make payments, all in one place.
This unified platform is part of MMRDA’s larger mission called #MumbaiInMinutes. It aims to let anyone travel anywhere within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in under 59 minutes. The launch shows the government’s strong focus on improving the commuter experience, reducing congestion, and promoting sustainable travel options.
Launch aligned with digital India
The Mumbai One App is also an important part of the Prime Minister’s Digital India vision. It builds technology-driven solutions that enhance citizens’ everyday lives. With this app, commuters do not need to switch between different platforms or use paper tickets. One app and one QR code are enough to access all modes of transport.
This app promises shorter travel times, better accessibility, and greater convenience. Digitally connecting multiple transport systems truly improves daily living for Mumbaikars and supports India’s broader goal of smart and connected cities.
