The India Meteorological Department, IMD has issued an orange alert for 11 states, including UP and Punjab, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and climate disruptions.
As per weather branch, states such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur, and Nagaland expected to experience a moist spell.
IMD Warns 11 states with Alerts
The climate forecast for Delhi today show the possibility of large cloudy skies, light rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The highest temperature expected to be between 35 and 37 degree Celsius, providing some comfort from the persistent summertime highs. The IMD has issued a yellow alert.
Several areas in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are under an IMD warning, with high opportunity of lightning, thunderstorms, and light rain in the next few hours. There is an alert in locations like Saharanpur, Kurukshetra, and Yamunanagar. The “Nautapa” heatwave remains going robust in Haryana. However, pre-monsoon showers expected to reach quickly, which cause the temperature to drop slightly.
Heavy Rainfall Expected Today in Northeast India
In the IMD weather forecast, it’s been cautioned that heavy rainfall occurs on 3 June in the Northeast Indian states of Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Tripura.
Up till June 4, Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and the Andaman and Nicobar islands in southern India expected to get heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and robust gusts. During this time, Kerala expected to peer remoted, intense rainfall. In various places around the Konkan and Goa region, IMD expected mild to moderate rainfall.
