Air India Kanishka bombing: Canada Police Identifies Bomb Suspect Mr X after 40 years

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) identified ‘Mr X’, a person who associated in testing a bomb just weeks before the deadly Kanishka bombing on June 23, 1985. However, the RCMP did not show his name, mentioning private legal guidelines. This got here on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the attack in which 329 people killed.

On June 21, RCMP Assistant Commissioner David Teboul confirmed the loss of life of the mysterious Mr X during an event commemorating the anniversary of the Kanishka bombing. Dozens of people and children of the victims attended the memorial.

On June 23, 1985, a bomb detonated in midair by Khalistani terrorists on Air India Flight 182, killing all 329 people on board. The aircraft was flying from Montreal to Mumbai with a stopover in London. The passengers have been Canadians of Indian starting place.

Mr X behind Kanishka bombing

Teboul, with several different RCMP officials, was part of the Canadian delegation present on the memorial to mark the 40th anniversary of the bombing.

He is the commander of federal policing in British Columbia, said that in spite of the acquittals of two key suspects in the bombing case in 2005, investigators persisted in pursuing the case “to tie up a few free ends and find out the extra fact that’s independent of the judicial process.”

Canadian Agents and Free Ends of Bombing

For many years, investigators cited one of the men involved in testing the bomb as ‘Mr X’, as they were not able to verify his identification. According to the RCMP, he died not long in the past without ever handling any costs.

In his address the memorial on Saturday, David Teboul reiterated that following the 2005 acquittals, the investigation endured in hopes of resolving “free ends,” identifying the person who helped test the kind of Kanishka bombing that brought down the Air India flight 40 years ago.
