Another Indian Killed in Riyadh Amid Iran War, Death Toll Rises to 6

An Indian national killed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in Iran war, raising the total number of casualties from India to six. The details surrounding the Indian national’s death are unclear, but the Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia referred to “recent developments” on March 18 as the cause.

The embassy posted on X, stating it was in contact with the Indian national’s family. They was providing all necessary help.

On March 18, Saudi Arabia announced that it intercepted four ballistic missiles aimed at Riyadh. Some debris fell near a refinery south of the city. The Indian national likely died after struck by falling debris.

This attack was a response to Israeli strikes on Iran’s South Pars gas field, the largest of its kind in the world. It plays a vital role in Iran’s domestic electricity production and global LNG supplies.

According to a report in Al Jazeera, the events on March 18 marked the first time many residents in Riyadh heard blasts or received warning texts.

6 Indians lost their life in conflict till now

So far, six Indians have lost their lives amid the ongoing Middle East conflict. On March 14, two Indians killed in a drone strike in Sohar, Oman. A week earlier, an Indian national died in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia. It is by an Iranian missile that targeted radar systems struck a residential area.

A seventh Indian, Aseem Mahajan, is missing, as stated by the additional secretary (Gulf) in a media briefing.

Six Indian nationals have sadly lost their lives, and one is missing. Our missions in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, and the UAE are in regular contact with the relevant authorities about the missing Indian,” he said.
