The incident gain huge attention after a terminal staff, identified as Lilian, post a video on TikTok condemning the parents’ actions. Her post has when you consider that gain over 300,000 views on social media, with many visitors expressing shock and disbelief.
Parents leave their 10 Year Old son at Barcelona Airport
According to Lilian, the couple jetted off from Barcelona on Wednesday without their children after the child forbidden from flying, as his passport had expired and he also required a visa. Airport staff found the own in the terminal and alert police.
“He tell them that his parents were on the aircraft on their way to their home country, going on tour,” Lilian said in her video, said The Sun. “His passport was expired, so the children travelling with a Spanish passport but the Spanish passport required a visa. As they did not have a visa, they left the child on the terminal and called a relative to pick him up,” she said.
Child found roaming in terminal
Urgent contact made with the aircraft’s pilot, who showed police had inform him there was minor in the vehicle park. The air site visitors coordinator showed that the parents had organized for a relative to select him up so they hold their journey.
“I’m an air visitors controller, and as a controller, I’ve visible many things, however this has been completely surreal,” Lilian said. “How is it possible for parents to leave their 10 year old son at Barcelona Airport terminal because he cannot travel due to documentation problems? They call a relative but the relative may take half of hour, around an hour, around 3 hours and they take the flight so flippantly and leave the kid behind!” Lilian questioned.
