IND PAK Ceasefire extend on all cross-border army movements as decided by each countries on May 10. Amid ongoing tensions, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of each countries have determined to hold “confidence-building measures”. “Further to understand between the 2 DGMOs on 10th May 2025, it’s been determined to maintain the confidence-building measures if you want to reduce the alertness level,” officers said on Thursday.
As per reports, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar claimed that the DGMO of Pakistan, Major General Kashif Abdullah, and the DGMO of India Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai talked over a hotline on Thursday to discuss the ceasefire, which has now been extend until May 18.
Why the IND PAK Ceasefire extends
India launched Operation Sindoor on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after nighttime on May 7, in reaction to Pahalgam terror attack. Tensions among the countries intensified an afternoon later, after Pakistan launched a drone and missile attack on military bases close to the border, which India thwarted.
Both countries stop firing
After 3 days of high military hostilities, each countries agreed to a IND PAK Ceasefire of stop firing from each sides on May 10 after the DGMO of Pakistan called his Indian counterpart and asked for stop all types of cross-border firing. However, Pakistan violated the hours later as reports of heavy shelling and firing surfaced from the border villages.
