India and Russia exchanged sixteen agreements today in areas like defense, trade, economy, healthcare, academics, culture, and media. During a joint press conference, PM Modi expressed confidence that the friendship between India- Russia will provide the strength to tackle global challenges.
India and Russia signed 16 agreements
He emphasized that this trust will improve the shared future of both countries. He noted that both countries stood together in the fight against terrorism. He reiterated India’s firm belief that terrorism is a direct attack on human values.
PM mentioned that both sides are working toward completing a Free Trade Agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union. Mr. Modi announced that India will launch a free 30-day e-tourist visa and a 30-day Group Tourist Visa for Russians. He also said that the Russian side agreed to adopt the Framework Agreement to join the International Big Cat Alliance.
Putin visit reflects strong relationships from 10 years
Mr. Modi remarked that Putin’s visit comes at a time when India and Russia bilateral relations are achieving many historic milestones. He reflected on the past 10 years, noting that the world has experienced many ups and downs.
In a joint statement released after the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to boost bilateral and multilateral cooperation. It address challenges and threats such as terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime, money laundering, terrorist financing, and illegal drug trafficking.
