India warns Pakistan Against Aggressive Approach Towards Sir Creek region

In a clear warning to Pakistan, India cautioned the neighboring country against any aggression toward the Sir Creek region on Thursday. He said that any such action would receive a strong response that could change both history and geography.

Singh made these comments at a military base near the border city of Bhuj in Gujarat and celebrating Dussehra with soldiers and performing ‘shastra puja’ (worship of weapons). He also mentioned that the Indian military successfully achieved all the goals of Op Sindoor and that starting a war with Pakistan by escalating the situation was not the intention.

However, his remarks about the disputed Sir Creek caught significant attention. “Any aggression by Pakistan in the Sir Creek area will be met with a strong response that will change both history and geography. In the 1965 war, the Indian Army showed its ability to reach Lahore. Today, in 2025, Pakistan should remember that one route to Karachi passes through the creek,” he stated.

Sir Creek is a 96-km-long tidal estuary between Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch and Pakistan. It is considered a disputed area because of different interpretations of maritime boundaries by both sides. “Despite 78 years of independence, the border dispute continues in the Sir Creek area. India has tried repeatedly to resolve this issue through dialogue, but Pakistan’s intentions remain unclear and flawed,” Singh said.

He noted, “The recent growth of Pakistan’s military infrastructure in areas near Sir Creek prove its intentions.” The defence minister emphasized that the Indian Army and the Border Security Force are diligently guarding India borders.

Regarding Op Sindoor, Singh said that India’s fight against cross-border terrorism will persist. He explained that Pakistan attempted to breach India’s defense during the operation, but that the Indian military “exposed” the Pakistani air defense system and sent a clear message to the world about its capability to inflict significant losses on its adversary.
