Indian Student killed in Hamilton after hit by stray bullet in shooting incident

In a sad incident, a young Indian Student killed in Hamilton after she was struck by a stray bullet in a gangland-style capturing in the area. The victim was recognized by Hamilton Police as 21-year-old was reading at Mohawk College. She was ready at a bus stand on her way to work when she was hit by the stray bullet.

“Investigators believe the girl was an harmless bystander struck by a stray bullet during a shooting in the location,” police stated in a statement on Friday.

 The incident came about at around 7.30 pm on Thursday night whilst police stated they were investigating a homicide regarding a bystander. She sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to hospital but succumbed to the accidents. Through accrued video, investigators have decided that the passenger of a black Mercedes SUV fired at the occupants of a white sedan. Shortly after the shooting, the white sedan fled the region. Shots also entered the rear window of a close-by house where the occupants were watching television some feet away. “Fortunately, no person was injured in the home,” a launch from Hamilton Police said.

What Indian Consultation Said on this Tragic Death

India’s Consulate in Toronto stated they had been “deeply saddened through the tragic death” of the Indian Student killed in Hamilton. “A homicide investigation is currently going on. We are in close touch together with her family and are extending all vital assistance. Our mind and prayers are with the bereaved family throughout this hard time,” it stated in a post.

“I would love to extend my condolences to Harsimrat’s family. This is a young girl who had her complete ahead of her and tragically lost her life because a few thugs picked up a gun,” Hamilton Police Chief Frank Bergen said during the press conference on Friday, as per reports.
