An Israel strike on a health center in southern Lebanon has killed 12 medical workers, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health. This attack came as Israel’s assault continued amid a broader regional war that the United States and Israel launched against Iran 15 days ago.

The strike occurred late on Friday in the village of Burj Qalaouiyah in the Bint Jbeil District. It resulted in the deaths of doctors, paramedics, and nurses who were on duty.
This violence mirrors Israel’s ongoing targeting of medics and hospitals, which has devastated Gaza’s healthcare system during its violent campaign against the Palestinian enclave. Such actions violate international humanitarian law.

Heidi Pett from Al Jazeera, reporting from Beirut, noted that the toll on medics was preliminary as rescue teams searched for missing individuals. “You can see how deadly some of these air strikes have been, not just in the south, but also in the capital, Beirut,” Pett said.
The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that it was the second attack on the health sector within hours. Another Israel strike on the southern village of Souaneh killed two paramedics and wounded five when it hit a paramedic center.
