Los Angeles Mayor Removes Fire Chief over handling of Wildfire in January. It killed over dozens people and damaged over 16000 structures. Mayor said, Crowley sent home 1,000 firefighters on day the fire erupts and he refused to do a required after action reports on blazes.
She said, “These require her removal. The heroism of firefighters, during Palisades fire and every single day is without question. Our city needs to bring leadership to the fire department.” The mayor and fire chief have sparred publicly since the fires broke out on 7 January, with Crowley criticize the mayor for budget cuts to department. She said it hurts the ability to give service.
