Modi Receives Oman’s Highest Honor on Thursday by Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. This honor recognizes his efforts to strengthen India-Oman relations. The award puts him in the company of notable figures, including Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, Emperor Akihito of Japan, Nelson Mandela, and King Abdullah of Jordan.
Modi Receives Oman’s Highest Honor in Muscat
Modi received the award during his two-day visit to Muscat, the last stop on his three-nation tour, which included Jordan and Ethiopia.
This honor adds to PM Modi’s growing collection of over 29 civilian awards from foreign countries, like Ethiopia’s Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia and Kuwait’s Order of Mubarak Al-Kabeer.
Strengthens the India- Oman Diplomatic ties
His visit marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and Oman. Both countries aim to expand cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, energy, defense, and cultural exchanges. Modi arrived in Muscat on Wednesday to a warm welcome, which included a ceremonial guard of honor.
The Modi Receives Oman’s Highest Honor follows a day after Ethiopia awarded him its highest civilian distinction, the Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia, in Addis Ababa. This award recognizes his efforts to improve India-Ethiopia relations and enhance cooperation in agriculture, education, technology, and capacity building. Thus, PM Modi adds another major international accolade to his list of global honors.
