Trump’s Trade Advisor Peter Navarro Blasts Indian Brahmins because they benefiting from the Russia-Ukraine war by purchasing discounted oil from Moscow, refining it, and selling it to buyers in Europe and beyond. In an interview with Fox News, the White House adviser called New Delhi a “laundromat for the Kremlin” and criticized the country’s elite for profiting “at the expense of the Indian people.”
Navarro claimed that India did not buy much oil from Russia before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but is now supporting “the Russian war machine.”
Why Navarro Blasts Indian Brahmins
“India is nothing but a laundromat for the Kremlin. You have Brahmins taking advantage of the Indian people. We need this to stop,” Navarro said. He accused Indian refiners of buying cheap Russian crude, processing it, and exporting it at a higher price.
“It kills Ukrainians. And what do we have to do as taxpayers? We have to send them more money,” he added. He also defended Trump’s tariffs on Indian exports and argued that New Delhi’s connections with Moscow and Beijing were threatening global stability.
Navarro spoke about India China Relations
“PM Modi’s a great leader. I don’t understand why he’s getting close to Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping when he’s the biggest democracy in the world,” Navarro Blasts Indian Brahmins and said.
This criticism came while PM Modi was visiting China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, where he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping—his first trip to China in seven years. Trump’s trade conflict with China and India has prompted both countries to work on rebuilding relations after making initial moves last year to reduce border tensions.
PM Modi is also expected to meet President Putin. This timing aligns with the United States ramping up its criticism of New Delhi’s trade relations with Moscow and increasing protectionist policies under Trump.
