On Thursday, PM Modi thanked his Singaporean counterpart, Lawrence Wong, for supporting India in its fight against terrorism after the Pahalgam terror attack.
Speaking at a press conference at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, with Wong, PM Modi highlighted the concerns of both countries regarding terrorism. He said, “We believe that fighting against terrorism with unity is the duty of all humanitarian countries.

Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Wong and the Government of Singapore for their sympathy towards the people of India and for their support in our fight against terrorism.”
After the Pahalgam attack in April, that claimed 26 lives, India targeted terror camps in Pakistan. PM Modi mentioned that Lawrence’s visit is significant, as both nations are celebrating the 60th anniversary of their relationship. “During my last trip to Singapore, we elevated our ties to a strategic partnership,” he said.

Lawrence, who is in India for a 3 day trip, remarked that the partnership between India and Singapore. “In a world marked by great uncertainty and turbulence, the partnership between India and Singapore becomes more important. It is based on shared values, mutual respect, and a deep reservoir of trust. We can draw strength from our shared history and the friendship and trust between our peoples. Together, we can strengthen resilience, seize new opportunities, and contribute to balance and growth in our region and beyond. I look forward to working closely with PM Modi to elevate the Singapore-India partnership to even greater heights in the years ahead,” he said.
