PM Modi has spoken to US President Donald Trump over a 35-minute-long phone call during which he briefed him about India’s Op Sindoor against terrorist release pads in Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. India agreed to a ceasefire after Islamabad’s request, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said on Wednesday.
PM Modi spoke with Trump on Phone call
“PM and President Trump had been scheduled to meet on the sidelines of the G7 Summit. President Trump had to return to US early, due to which this meeting could not take place. After this, on the request of President Trump, today both leaders spoke over the phone,” Misri said.
He said that the two leaders spoke for almost 35 mins. “After the Pahalgam terrorist attack on 22nd April, President Trump had spoken with PM over phone and expressed condolences and had also expressed assist in the fight in opposition to terrorism. This was the first time they have been spoken after that. So, PM spoke with President Trump in detail on Operation Sindoor,” he said.
First conversation on Operation Sindoor
This was the first communication among the 2 leaders for the reason that April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Following the attack, Trump had referred to as PM Modi to explicit condolences and confirm his assist in the fight against terrorism.
